The short version
Renly is a private, offline-first subscription tracker. Your subscriptions, reminders, and profile stay on your device. Nothing is sent to a server. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data.
Data stored on your device
All information you add to Renly — subscriptions, amounts, billing frequencies, categories, renewal dates, reminders, and your profile — is stored locally on your device only.
We operate no accounts and no cloud sync for this data. It is never transmitted to us or to any third-party server by the App.
If you delete the App or erase your device, that locally stored data is deleted with it. You can export a JSON backup at any time from within the App.
No bank connections, no accounts
Renly never connects to your bank and never asks for your banking credentials. Data you add comes only from what you type, paste, scan, or import yourself.
Features such as pasting a confirmation email or SMS, scanning a screenshot, and importing a bank CSV are processed on your device. That content is analyzed locally and is not uploaded anywhere.
Notifications
Renewal reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by your device's notification system. Notification content is generated on your device and is not routed through our servers.
Backups you control
Renly lets you export and import JSON backups. These files are created and handled on your device; if you choose to share, store, or move a backup file (for example to cloud storage or another device), that is entirely under your control.
App store information
Renly is distributed through app stores. Those stores may collect information such as device identifiers, crash reports, and download or purchase details under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of your app store provider.
Children
Renly is not directed at children under the age at which they can consent to data processing in their jurisdiction, and — because the App stores data only on your device — we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will publish the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date.
